Why Eye Exams Matter at Every Age

We believe in identifying and addressing minor problems before they escalate into significant issues. That’s why regular eye exams are one of the most important things you can do — not just for your vision, but for your overall health.

Many people come in for an updated prescription, but our exams also check for conditions like:

  • Glaucoma
  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Macular degeneration
  • Cataracts

Even if your vision feels fine, a comprehensive eye exam can uncover things you wouldn’t notice on your own. It’s about more than clarity — it’s about peace of mind.

What to Expect at Your Visit

We know eye exams can feel unfamiliar — especially if it’s been a while. At Kudo Care, we explain everything clearly and move at your pace.

Here’s what your visit may include:

  • A conversation about your vision, health history, and any symptoms
  • Testing how clearly you see things up close and far away
  • Checking your prescription (if needed)
  • A gentle pressure test to screen for glaucoma
  • Digital retinal imaging or OCT scans to check for changes in the back of your eye
  • Time to ask questions, get answers, and talk through next steps

Our eye doctor will walk through everything, so you always know what’s happening and why it matters.

Three white phoropters, which are used in eye exams, are displayed on a table in a medical office. There is a television and a poster on the wall behind the phoropters. A laptop and a box are on the left side of the table, and a container is on the right side.

Eye Exams for Kids and Families

We love seeing families walk through our doors — and that includes our youngest patients. Children's vision can change quickly, and catching things early can make a big difference in how they learn, focus, and feel at school.

We use kid-friendly tools and a warm, patient approach to make exams stress-free (and sometimes even fun!). Whether your child is struggling with screens or squinting at the board, we’re here to help them see clearly and confidently.

Need to bring multiple family members at once? We’re happy to schedule back-to-back or same-day exams — because your time matters, too.

Monitoring Chronic Conditions with Care and Clarity

For patients managing diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of vision loss, we provide regular, detailed eye health monitoring — always in plain language and at your pace.

We use:

  • OCT scans to check for changes in the retina and optic nerve
  • Visual field tests to catch early signs of vision loss
  • Digital imaging to track progress over time

You’ll always leave with a better understanding of your eye health — and a care plan that feels doable, not overwhelming. We’ll walk with you, every step of the way.
