Comprehensive Surgical and Medical Eye Care

We’re proud to welcome a new ophthalmologist to the Kudo Care Center team—offering expert care for cataracts, glaucoma, corneal conditions, eyelid and tear duct issues, and diabetic eye disease.

Our coordinated care model brings together optometry and ophthalmology to support your long-term eye health. Whether you need a thorough evaluation or a surgical procedure, we’ll walk you through your options and next steps.

Cataract & Lens Replacement

Cataract surgery restores vision by replacing the eye’s cloudy lens with a clear artificial one. At Kudo Care Center, we offer personalized lens options based on your lifestyle and vision goals, so you can see clearly at multiple distances and, in some cases, reduce your need for glasses.

We provide advanced laser-assisted cataract surgery for added precision, and we manage complex cataract cases with extra care and planning. Your procedure and lens recommendation will be tailored to your individual eye health.

Services include:

  • Premium laser-assisted cataract surgery
  • Complex cataract care for advanced needs
  • Custom lens options to match vision goals

Glaucoma Care & Laser Treatments

Glaucoma care focuses on managing eye pressure to protect your vision over time. Depending on your condition, treatment may include drops, laser therapy, or surgery.

Our ophthalmologist offers minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) and in-office laser procedures—such as selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) and laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI)—based on your eye anatomy and glaucoma type.

Services include:

  • Minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) for long-term pressure control
  • SLT laser treatment to improve fluid drainage
  • Laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) for narrow-angle glaucoma

Cornea & Ocular Surface Procedures

Corneal procedures help treat surface growths, scarring, or irregularities that affect comfort and clarity.

Your ophthalmologist may recommend surgery to remove a pterygium (a growth on the eye), or a superficial keratectomy to smooth scarring. In some cases, an amniotic membrane graft may support healing.

Services include:

  • Pterygium surgery to remove growths affecting vision
  • Superficial keratectomy for corneal scarring
  • Amniotic membrane transplant to support corneal healing

Oculoplastics (Eyelids, Lesions, Tear Ducts)

Oculoplastics addresses both functional and cosmetic concerns involving the eyelids and tear drainage system.

We start with a careful evaluation and offer personalized options, from in-office lesion removal to more advanced eyelid and tear duct surgeries.

Eyelid procedures:

  • Eyelid lesion removal
  • Chalazion removal (chalaziectomy)
  • Ptosis repair and blepharoplasty for drooping eyelids
  • Tarsorrhaphy (when needed to protect the eye)
  • Electroepilation for misdirected lashes

Tear duct procedures:

  • Lacrimal duct probing and irrigation

Diabetic Eye Care

If you have diabetes, regular eye evaluations are essential for protecting your vision.

We monitor for early signs of diabetic retinopathy and coordinate care with your optometrist and medical team to manage your eye health proactively.

Services include:

  • Ongoing diabetic eye monitoring and treatment planning

In-Office Laser Procedures

Some laser procedures are performed in-office to treat common issues quickly and comfortably.

Available laser procedures:

  • YAG (Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet) capsulotomy to treat clouding behind a lens implant (common after cataract surgery).

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral?

  • You don’t need a referral to request an ophthalmology consultation, but your optometrist may recommend co-managed care based on your needs.

What’s the difference between an optometrist and an ophthalmologist?

  • Optometrists handle routine and medical eye care, while ophthalmologists can perform surgical procedures in addition to medical treatment.

Are these procedures done in-office or at a surgery center?

  • Some procedures—like laser treatments and minor eyelid procedures—are done in-office. Others may be scheduled at a surgical facility.

How do you decide between laser vs surgery for glaucoma?

  • Your treatment plan depends on your eye pressure, anatomy, and glaucoma type. We'll explain your options clearly during your evaluation.

What lens options are available with cataract surgery?

  • We offer a range of intraocular lens (IOL) choices to match your vision goals, including advanced lenses for near and distance focus.
